  1. In my entire life I've never been able to see a concert that close to the stage. Can someone tell me the secret to getting good tickets? I've called Ticketmaster the moment tickets go on sale and I still get crappy seats. There's clearly a secret ticket purchasing strategy that I know nothing about.

    Oh yeah, dumb-looking hat.

  2. lol That picture cracked me up =)

As for getting to the front at concerts; buy standing tickets if possible. I managed to get to the front row for The Cure at Wembley; standing tickets and queing for 4 hours et voila!

  4. jpx...I was lucky enough to get those seats on-line via ComcastTix, very similar to Ticketmaster. They were best seats I have ever gotten on line. In fact, the ticket scan that Craig has up for this show is my ticket.

This was the 4th time, out of 22 shows, that I was this close. (Prayer Tour 89, waited all night f tix while in College..first in line, fourth row)...Dream Tour 2000 (3rd Row, actually my ticket was much further back but a friend was up close and snuck me up) and Curiosa (scored a single Pitt Ticket on-line)

I took about a hundred shots, most are pretty good. I'll send them off to Craig once I sort through them. I just wanted to get the one with the hat sent.

Anyoen else going to these shows..ENJOY. I've seen my favorite band play 48 different songs in two days..who else does that?

  5. JPX come to a show in NZ, basically you just have to get there early and run for the front, we did that in Aug and we were 1 row behind the barrier....brilliant! and makes the whole pre-gig nerves even more exciting.

I am wondering if they recorded that song "The Hungry Ghost" for some reason the title sounds really interesting, does anyone of any insights into the album tracklisting....is anyone withholding some valuable info????
    enjoy the shows everyone!

    Hope they play Faith!

  6. Hi this is Paul, formerly of Paul K. I had to change my name and stuff. Why is it so hard for me to post here? Because I'm retarded? Probably.
Anyway! When I was young concerts were a crap shot. Now that I have money I BUY decent seats from other people. In fact I flew to Mexico City to sit in the front row about ten feet from Robert & the gang. It was a little TOO intense, if you follow me, I'd actually prefer to sit in the 14th row, I think. 14 is about right I think.
Anyway, the reason Simon is wearing stupid hats is because he's loaded. Man does he have a dream job, lemme tell ya

  7. You guys have had creative ways to get good seats but why is it that you can't get good seats the moment they go on sale? Tickets went on sale at 9:00am and I was on the phone with ticketmaster by 9:03, which resulted in lame seats, what gives?

  8. paul kurie-

that's so brilliant because i scored 14th row tickets for the show at radio city on the 21st!! in the center orchestra section. i'm super pumped. went to the fairfax show, as well. it was one of the best nights of my life. it was the second time i'd seen the cure (before at the WHFStival at RFK stadium in DC in may of 04). So i'll have seen them three times before my 18th birthday! i feel so blessed to have found these tickets for only 155$ (compared to MUCH more for worse seats!)

    i am so excited!

oh and by the way, the fairfax show was simply PERFECT. everything was great. i have bruises on my legs from dancing so hard and hitting the corners of my seats!

  9. jpx, I got a better seat for Cleveland by waiting. Junk seats were coming up in the presales when they first began, so I was just going to wait for the regular onsale. However, that was running late, and I got impatient, so I went back to the one presale that was still going on, which was the one from the official site. Guess what? I scored ninth row center. I have no idea how I lucked out like that, but I did.

  10. Somehow when Craig said that Simon was wearing a hat last night, that wasn't quite what I pictured. But haha, that hat is awesome. I'd love to know the story behind it... :D

  11. i find that pre-sales usually don't put pit tickets on sale. i got 2nd row seats but i would MUCH rather have pit tickets. the closest i've ever been was at curiosa. my friend anna and i were dangerously close. it was great.
i'm not sure there are any secrets. especially when you're buying for more than one. :\

  12. @ jpx - I used the same method as Alastair, but in Adelaide (Australia) and ended up right on the barrier "Inbetween" Robert and Simon. It was the most amazing experience ever.

I hope you manage to get that close one day!

  14. jpx - Most of the seats just go to scalpers who are there right on the dot and wipe out bulks of tickets with one click, so if you're willing and loaded just check ebay and you're bound to find at least one really good seat for the bargain of a couple hundred dollars... (I paid $160 for an 11th row ticket to Radio City Music Hall but I saw 2nd row ones going for well over $200)

But yeah I really wish for once they would just play a general admittance venue close-ish to me. As weird as it is I kind of enjoy the thrill of waiting in line for hours through rain and snow...

  15. Annie, you are right, there is a definite buzz about standing and waiting in line with fellow Cure fans, but I'd prefer the weather to be fine.
