    ??

    ReplyDelete
  3. third!

won't be around much tonight. have a baseball game. good show to all who are there!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hey you geeks and lurkers!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 891 posts from last night!!! Was it really 10:15 Saturday Night or what?!? Will it be the same tonight? lol

Talk to you soon! Too bad Monkeybutt btw! Have a good game!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Oh fine, show up to call FIRST and then bugger off!

    ReplyDelete
  6. "Could I possibly ask more questions?" LOL - I love Craig.

    ReplyDelete
  7. tonight:
    out of this world
    faith
    the holy hour
    bloodflowers

    ReplyDelete
  8. Wow - you have to get here really early to call FIRST these days.

Really looking forward to tonight's show.

I stand by last night's prediction - I think there will be some Faith at Shrine!

    ReplyDelete
  9. (Fantac no longer makes prediction for fear of developping alcoholism!)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Opening song predictions?

    Mine is Plainsong

    ReplyDelete
  11. rev heron - I think you are right! Plainsong for me too, but I would love for it to be OOTW... a girl can dream, can't she!?!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'd like to know who said this, and how they found this out. Does "special" just mean "different" or "better"; if it means better, I'd be quite upset because it would imply The Cure has intentionally and knowingly been holding out on fans.

The only exception of which I could think would be letting Simon pick the entire setlist or something. If Robert thinks a different setlist is "better", then he should have done the better stuff from the get go.

Ah, this is what reading other shows' setlists does to me! Still, I can't resist.

    ReplyDelete
  13. muldfeld- that's what I was thinking. That Robert would let Simon pick the songs or something..."It's a perfect day for making out!!!"

  14. Good night everyone !

I´m ready to see what´s happening tonite.

Last night all the records were smashed into ashes, 894 comments.

I call for OOTW and Faith encore.

A question i hope not be taken off topic:

For those who aren´t US residents, why is thr reason because everyone is assuring all the Shrine Cure concerts are specials and we can expect something like that tonight?

    Greetings everyone !!

    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hi Kids.. will be back, but I'm hoping for some goodness :P... I still seem to think the Faith encore will come @ the last show, but I hope I am wrong.. I can see i'm gonna have to fly top Cali. next tour, they get all the good stuff !!!!

I'd love to see OOTW on the set tonight..

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm going with Open as the opener tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hey Paul?

I read a couple comments from last night (not all 892 mind you!) and one of your caught my attention!

You said you expected both The Shrine and Music Hall to be special set-lists, right? I was curious as to why?

If you feel like shedding some light about this, be my guest!

    ReplyDelete
  18. MAYBE SOMEDAY they'll OPEN with WANT, and maybe that someday is today...

    ReplyDelete
  19. I definitely think they’ll open with something upbeat. I mean, I can’t imagine them getting too depressing for Simons birthday. Want would be pretty cool though.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Love to be at the show tonight! I hope it is something special. More dark, faith encore, Simon picks the set list, maybe a big old Happy Birthday song for dear Simon? Will be cool to see what they do!

I just hate to wait till tomorrow morning to find out but I can't stay up that late anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  21. We're way overdue for a new song!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Fantac: I'm not trying to answer for Paul, but if I had to guess...both of these shows (Shrine at Radio City) were added after the fact..and both are pretty historic venues...throw in the fact that they are the second dates in their immediate area, they are bound to really mix up the set lists.

Take for example the first two nights of this tour in Faifax, VA, and Philadelphia, PA...2 shows about 3 hours apart from one another. I'm lucky enough to love right in the middle, and the second night had 10 different songs in the set.

Now maybe Paul knows a bit more about it...but that is my guess...and 2 cents.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks, Altr2elise! I fell asleep early last night (these West Coast shows have been kicking my butt) and when I woke up I saw that there were 800+ posts - far too intimidating to jump in that late in the game!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am hoping for Faith in Atlanta, we always seem to get Faith! Only show I can remember where they did not play it was the Blood Flowers promo show. Hope tonight is good, Happy Bday to Simon

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wish I were in California watching this show tonight! Instead I find myself in Rhode Island with Nick At Nite on in the background preparing for another work week. Good times.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks for your 2 cents Tim! Great points you're making... I'm definitely interested to hear opinions about this because I'm going to Music Hall and I'm yearning for a special evening for what might be the last time I see The Cure live... It's going to be special by default but still...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Is the Cat around tonight by the way? Elise? Jenny? Mad? Andrew? You guys there?

    ReplyDelete
  28. jpx - I think we would all prefer to be in California tonight. But, the next best place to be is COF.

    ReplyDelete
  29. chopped liver here !!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Sitting in the shrine now watching 65dos and could not be more excited.

Been a lurker for a while but my excitement made me post. Boy do I hope this lives up to expectations. The sound right now is amazing, loud but totally clear.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Jewella. You are not chopped liver! We luv ya!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow, Matt! Very cool. Hope you get all the songs you want to hear!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I was just being funny-tee hee, BUT I gotta go have dinner so will be back for 8 :).

    ReplyDelete
  34. I,m right here Fantac.

I hope tonight we have a full house

    ReplyDelete
  35. Altr2elise, true, this is the second best place to be! My frisnt went to a the True Colors Tour in Boston last night, here's her funny review,
    Lineup:
    Kat Deluna
    The Cliks
    Regina Spektor
    Intermission
    Rosie O’Donnell
    B52s
    Cyndi Lauper

What can one say about 6 hours of gay-friendly music and comedy at a fabulous Boston venue? Even though none of these acts is a particular favorite of mine, taken together they made for a delicious and totally satisfying entertainment smorgasbord. Carson was a funny and charming host, and the musical acts all were great. I didn’t know anything about the first three acts and they all blew me away, for different reasons. Kat Deluna was spunky and adorable, the Cliks are an excellent hard-driving queer rock band (the amazing lead singer is trangendered), and Regina Spektor was astonishing, using her tremendous vocals, guitar, piano, and a drumstick in an unusual and clever percussive style.

My friends and I spent intermission discussing guilty pleasures in music.

After the short break, Rosie did a good though sometimes surprisingly somber stand-up set, completely different from her TV persona and much more appealing (to me anyhow). The B52s totally rocked; I couldn’t stay in my seat. They played a mix of new and old stuff and it was all great. Cyndi Lauper capped the evening with her own energetic and heartfelt (and heavily accented) performance. My friends and I all admitted to getting “verklempt” at the end, when the entire lineup was onstage singing “True Colors.”

The whole evening was great, rocking, gay-friendly live music fun. The thunderstorm only added to the drama.

And like our very own JPX, I too was hit on, by a super-drunk lady in front of me (let’s call her “handsy”). Handsy was actually good-looking, but I couldn’t feel flattered since she was also molesting a man in front of her and a woman to her right who resembled a good-natured, drunken barrel. My friends, witnessing this, found it hilarious, and I found it only mildly uncomfortable.

Will unwanted attentions be the theme for summer concerts 2008? Only time will tell.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hi JPX! Nice to see you back.

And hi Fantac, Elise, and everyone! I'm having Monday blue (it's a hot, humid, drowsy morning here). Now I can really use some Cure. Bring on the show!

BTW, I'm really hoping wishing dreaming for OOTW to happen tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Matt, is it really that you´re now inside Shrine?

How can you send messages from there?

    iPhone, Blackberry?

    ReplyDelete
  38. cool, matt - i'm jealous.

prolly won't be around much tonite, but ya'll have fun!

i am thinking ootw for opener, and possible bloodflowers and faith.

please don't open with open! enough already! open with ootw or want.

OH, and play HOLY FUCKING HOUR

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi Jenny! What time is it over there? It's 10:26pm in Rhode Island.

    ReplyDelete
  40. What's going on Clockwise? What're you doing right now?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Holy Hour AND All Cats Are Grey.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Cat, don´t go away, it´s Simon´s Bday, sure we´ll get some surprises, i hope ya know what i man it

    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. mad bob- you mean some man on man surprises?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yep, Blackberry and an opera browser. Sitting in row 32 seat 19.

    65dos just left the stage.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I really HOPE someone is recording some audio of this show.

    ReplyDelete
  46. JPX, I’m 12 hours ahead of you, so it’s 10:29 am, Monday morning for me. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. jpx, i'm visiting my family in texas and me and my two brothers are getting ready to watch a movie. basically almost every minute is filled when i'm with my family. i only see them a coupla times a year. :-)

    jpx prom buddy! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  48. By the way it sucks scrolling down to the bottom of this page on my BB.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Fantac: I saw them at Radio City to close the Swing Tour in '96 (wow, was it that long ago?)

Anyway..they closed the night with "Faith"...also in the set that night were "Piggy in the Mirror" and "Shiver and Shake"...they even mixed a little The Ramones "Beat on a Brat" into Mint Car...it was a magical night.

Still contemplating making the trek up I-95 to see them close this tour too.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Cat - enjoy your time with your family. But, when you have a moment to spare, pop in and visit your COF family :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. jewella: I feel like chopped liver, too! *Pout*!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sorry, this should be:
Cat, don´t go away, it´s Simon´s Bday, sure we´ll get some surprises, i hope ya know what i mean.

@ Matt, awesome, enjoy the show, if you can take some pics and get some audio.Hoping you can send us reports of highlights.
    Thanxs.

    ReplyDelete
  53. it's times like this i wish i still lived in california...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jenny, does this mean that you're at work? I'm sorry to hear it. What do you do?

Clockwise, enjoy your time with your family. I've never been to Texas. If you're able to get away save a dance for me - Underneath the Stars?

    ReplyDelete
  55. i'm guessing maybe a faith encore? figurehead would be nice too.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Good morning, v!!!!! You're not chopped liver, either!

    ReplyDelete
  57. As a "kitten" I'm really looking forward to the "special" reports LOL

    Happy Birthday Simon!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Elise: Good morning to you too. :)

    ReplyDelete

jpx, i used to live here from 10-23. i got out, thank god! but i come back to visit every year, and this time it's special because i am seeing the cure in the city where i learned to love them (austin).

    ReplyDelete
  62. Aww, thank you, Cat! :') You rule, too! Have fun tonight!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. JPX, yes, I'm at work - for most of the past shows I've been joining the live chats during my office hour. Bad, isn't it? But I certainly can't help it. I'm an editor in a small publisher. :) I seem to remember that you're a shrink? Am I right?

    ReplyDelete
  64. v, i am going to respond to your e-mail when i get a moment. i liked what you said and will write back when i can. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Cat, have fun tonight! You'll be missed. :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Clockwise, I've always found Texas to be intimidating. How long are you there for? My first Cure show was in Worcester, MA, KMKMKM tour.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Clockwise: Cool!! No worries, I know you've been busy traveling and visiting and such. I look forward to your reply, when you have a chance. :D

    ReplyDelete
  68. Okay gotta check out for a bit. Be back as soon as I can!! Enjoy, all!! :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. OK - I have put away the ironing board and now I can focus on the important things in life.

I'm especially looking forward to the "special reports" - life is good, people!

    ReplyDelete
  70. v - remember to pick up some twinkies!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hey Jenny, By time I go to work you'll be home, enjoying your evening, weird, huh? Yep, I'm a shrink, I specialize in anxiety disorders. Right now I'm drinking cheap white wine and getting mellow. Are you drinking coffee?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Good night, good morning to all friends of COF. Good to read that you had so much fun last night. Over 800 comments. Really amazing !
Nice idea to think Simon could choose all songs tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  73. any takers on what the post count will be tonight? 700? 800? a cool 1,000? :D

    ReplyDelete
  74. How many people want to bet that Clockwise won't be able to tear herself away from COF?

    ReplyDelete
  75. If Simon and Robert make out, maybe 1,000.

    ReplyDelete
  76. people were chatting well after the show ended too..

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm betting it will push past 900 at least

    ReplyDelete
  78. november - I'd be surprised if we crack the 900 - but happily surprised.

jpx - there is no way Cat will be able to stay away all night - I think she will definitely check in with us

    ReplyDelete
  79. hey everyone, good to see things just got started.. i should be doing my homework, but i cant miss the Shrine reports =D

    ReplyDelete
  80. Hello all! Steph and Paul have checked in and are ready to go.

    ReplyDelete
  81. OK - so to make the record - we have to have cracked the 100 comments mark before the start of the concert! We did it last night - I'm sure we can do it again!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hi bernie! It sure would be interesting if Simon gets to choose all the songs. I do think we'll have a special setlist tonight.

JPX, I'm running out of coffee right now and that's why I'm drowsy. :( But no worries - I'll be better when the show begins. You sound like you're having a good time, drinking white wine and relaxing. I'm envious. ;)

  84. "so here I go, here I go again..."

    ReplyDelete
  85. 'd bet on a lower post count tonight. I, for one, won't it make it much past the opener...Monday morning comes early..especially on the East Coast...though not as early as it does for Jenny.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I don't know how everyone is managing with the late nights. One of the upsides to being in the Southern hemisphere is that the concerts are happening in our daytime. It's 11am here. Of course, the downside to that is that the concerts sometimes conflict with work hours.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hi Craig! One question for you - how many hours of sleep do you get a day?

Sorry, but I can't help it. It just looks like you don't sleep at all, with all the constant updates on COF ;)

    ReplyDelete
  88. LET'S DO THIS, GANG!
i'm expecting the works. this time i'm not going anywhere. if i have to pee its going to have to be in this clearly canadian bottle.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Elise, so we're actually in the same time zone! (Is that a bit late for me to find that out?)

I really suck at these things. I could never figure out these time zones and stuff.

  94. elise, i've said it before...obsession triumphs all! :D

    ReplyDelete
  95. Jenny (or is that Henny) - yes, we are in the same time zone. All I know is that I check what the eastern start time is on COF and then just change it to "am" and make sure I am ready to rock at that time.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Gosh! It's almost hard to keep up! I went away 30 minutes and I have 100 messages to read! lol What's going on!

    ReplyDelete
  97. First reports from our guys at the scene:

Paul: "Wow, the Shrine is so beautiful!!!"
Steph: "venue is almost filled up. most def sold out. the pit is very small, maybe a couple hundred people."

    ReplyDelete
  98. Well done, everybody. 100 posts before the start of the show - we are on our way to another record.

    ReplyDelete
  99. helsabot, i made a funnel out of a people magazine

    ReplyDelete
  100. Hey mad bob. ready for some surprises?

    ReplyDelete
  101. Thanks again Tim (for your added comments)!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Fantac - the pase on COF is fast and furious these days! So much so, Sofia has made arrangements for never having to leave her pc :D

    ReplyDelete
  103. Sofia- LOL. I didn't know People Mag was that water resistant.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Gahhh, I really should be studying but I couldn't resist. Hello everyone again... I shall be refreshing compulsively in between doing derivatives.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Craig, of course, Can we expect that?

    i posted earlier that:

I call for OOTW and Faith encore.

A question i hope not be taken off topic:

For those who aren´t US residents, why is thr reason because everyone is assuring all the Shrine Cure concerts are specials and we can expect something like that tonight?

Is great to see you Craig, last night you were very quiet.

I know you´re updating but other nights you´re an active chatter.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  106. Hi Annie! I found a place to crash in NYC! Not free mind you but "poor Cure fan" friendly! lol

    ReplyDelete
  107. 11:11 here... wishful thinking...?

    ReplyDelete
  108. helsabot, it's not really. i just want to piss on all the gossip and celebretards

    ReplyDelete
  109. Annie!!! I say, screw homework, keep your priorities in order.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Fantac - hehe that's good. I may actually live it up and get a hotel like a normal person too. Would probably cost as much as overnight parking anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I know we Cure and otherwise COF freaken GEEKS but you have to admit it's been YEARS since there was this sort of excitement in our little Cure world!!! Sorry but just felt like sharing my renewed excitement! :oP

    ReplyDelete
  112. my cat Jewell has just arrived for the show :P

    ReplyDelete
  113. fantac and anyone else coming to new york- i recommend the carlton arms hotel

    http://www.carltonarms.com/

a very unique experience! and cheap!

    ReplyDelete
  114. hey gang! long time lurker, first time poster. after reading everyone have fun on here for weeks now during this tour, i decided to join in on the fun!

short intro: I'm a 21 year old guy who is currently studying abroad in tokyo learning japanese! sadly, i got here right after the cure were here, and i go back right after they are done touring the states haha.. so i'm hoping to see them in the fall as i've never seen them live!

Looking forward to the setlist tonight! Let's have some faith!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Hey critter Paul!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Fantac - I'm loving the love in our Cure-world at the moment.

Good morning, Jewell-cat - another COF Kitten?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Hi Annie and Rodger. :)

And I seem to remember that we can look forward to a certain kind of *special* report tonight. How exciting. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  118. Hey rodger... that is very very awesome. Tokyo seems like a wonderful city, at least from what I've heard. I have been in the airport several times and that was lovely =P

    ReplyDelete
  119. We're all equal here... Only Craig that's special!

    All hail Craig!

    ReplyDelete
  120. I'm very happy that I no longer have to do homework, it's quite liberating!

    ReplyDelete
  121. she just may be !! I'll have to get the other one-bella in here pronto !

    ReplyDelete
  122. haha this is so exciting, wonder what the will open with? Underneath the stars (oh hell yes mix) maybe haha?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Yeah, Craig rules! When do you sleep, dude?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Hi "Facebook Paul", this is "Facebook Jo".

Welcome to the fun, Rodger. What time is it in Japan.

It must be time for OOTW... seriously

    ReplyDelete
  125. sorry guys, but to me 65 dos was 30 minutes of wasted time ..

    ReplyDelete
  126. Paul - okay.. so you're Facebook Paul, but not "whoa Simon's package is huge" Paul? And also not special-reports-tonight-Paul?

Wow, now I see why Porl changed his name.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Fantac - nothing special here. just another Cure fan.

    ReplyDelete
  128. i'm myspace sofia. how uncool is that? :/

    ReplyDelete
  129. it's 15 past noon here in tokyo on the second of july haha. got out of class this morning and now i'm ready to follow the updates.

yeah, opening with ootw and closing with bloodflowers... bring it on!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Rodger - the 2nd of july? you really are in the future! : )

    ReplyDelete
  131. err june hahah, i'm not that far in the future lol

    ReplyDelete
  132. jewella- really? I didn't think 65days was THAT bad..

And Craig NEVER sleeps. Either that or he has a clone do the evening updates.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Craig - You obviously haven't seen our Facebook shrine!!! lol

Sorry to be breaking the news to you but...

You are our leader! Our guide! Our light!

    ReplyDelete
  134. 'why are we waiting...'

    ReplyDelete
  135. I think the Radio City Music Hall show will be the special show, historically the last night of a tour has been a longer set, with deeper cuts...

    ReplyDelete
  136. Jewella, I agree, 65days did nothing for me. It was kind of like having a mosquito in your ear. A loud mosquito.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Hey everybody! I've been on this site for years, but never commented. Thanks to you all for getting me excited about the band again. It's amusing following your banter, plus, I want to help with the posting record :)

    ReplyDelete
  138. And so it begins...Out of this World!!!

    ReplyDelete
  139. (OK I'm exaggerating a tiny bit...)

    ReplyDelete
  140. just joined the cof geeks group on facebook haha. i'm rodger on there as well heh.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Yeah, OOTW is a winner tonite !!!

    ReplyDelete
  142. OOTW!!! (*cue fangirl scream*)

    Elise and everyone, we WIN!!

    ReplyDelete
  143. God! First Tim! Now Millertime! You guys are making my day!!!

    ReplyDelete
  144. OOTW, craig how on EARTH did you guess this ?? or was it the 'insider report'
