4:13 Dream CD photos

I've added some photos of the 4:13 Dream cd.

  1. I'm so jealous! Can I come over and listen with you and V?

Craig, how'd you get that? I'm still grinning from ear to ear that Mr. Parker is completely thrilled with 4:13. That is a good, good, good sign.

Only 8.5 more days for me.

  2. Promo copy, evidently. The punched out section from the bar code indicates that.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Thanks Craig.

    Good pics !!!

I like a lot the art of "Parched Art"

After look the photos, my hunger for having the cd is even bigger and deeper...

    !!!! 4:13 DREAM ¡¡¡¡¡

    Craig:

If you have a promo, what does it mean ?

The art will be different on the "commercial" edition ?

    ReplyDelete
  4. He does deserve it, but I'm still jealous!

  5. Regarding promos and the like: members of the press will sometimes receive two 'promos' when reviewing a record.

An early promo will tend to come in a very plain sleeve with a typed tracklist and some accompanying PR details. Then, closer to release, they'll receive a copy identical to what appears in the shops (except sometimes with barcode removed or a sticker on saying 'promo' or something).

I would imagine craig's promo is one of these later ones, so that'll be the artwork appearing on the release.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yes, this is the final artwork.

    ReplyDelete
  7. thanks craig!
love the face and hand artwork we haven't seen yet (or at least only the face on freakshow)

wish there was less negative space, but i'm pushing it now, aren't i?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Looks good; can't wait to get my grubby little mits on it =D

With any luck we'll have a new-look official site soon too!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ah, the return of the hand! I missed Porl! Thanks for the artwork. Is it a foldout or stapled pages? I'm guessing a fold out like back in the '90s. I hoped Bloodflowers wouldn't be the last album, considering the dreadfully boring liner notes with crappy black and white pictures and poor quality paper.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Bloody hell, Craig! We've only so many wounds you can rub salt into!!!
Only joking :) Just a matter of time for us Aussies... I'm going to be sitting on my phone all week waiting for that phone call!
Just the one disc is it? Nothing you're hiding from us like a DVD extra like they did for their self titled?!?? Come on Craig - spill the beans you naughty boy...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Muld: It's a foldout

Notherbob: Not hiding anything. One disc. And nothing hidden on the cd. : )

    ReplyDelete
  12. *sigh* Okay. Off to work now while you listen to your stupid promo, hole punched, fold out lyric sheeted, one disc wonder... Ooh, my keyboard is dripping with jealousy today!
    Bye all...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow, thanks Craig!
Between your review of 4:13 and now these pics, it makes even harder to wait til the 28th for release... but well worth it!
    :D

  14. mad bob,

A promo is just an advanced copy of a CD often sent to retailers like Borders, Barnes and Noble, and record stores for them to play on their sound systems for customers. When I worked at Borders, we got to take the promos home when we were done playing them. Don't know how craig got a copy, but probably from a friend who works in music retail.

    ReplyDelete
  15. craig - you have a promo copy. just wondering if you paid for it and supported The Cure, or if it was given to you. and if it is the latter, will you buy the album on the release date like the rest of us?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Andy: What do you think? Your question is pretty insulting.

And this was a gift from a friend. I certainly didn't buy it, or get it from someone who works at Best Buy or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. craig - i didn't mean it like that, i just wondered if you already had a copy if you would really go out to buy another. and i didn't know if it was a gift or you bought it somehow. sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  18. AW, I love it. Thank you so much for posting those. I am so happy to see Porl's artwork on Cure albums again: <3

    ReplyDelete
  19. The art could have been better, IMO. It looks WAY too much like the self-titled album to me. I wish it had a distinct look unique to this album...

    ReplyDelete
  20. EL four? What are you talking about? Its a 13.

    ReplyDelete
  21. OOOOHHHH I see... a 13 ~ k that makes sense! Thanks vinnie delflorio!

    ReplyDelete
  22. well, wouldn't surprise me if Robert personally posted a copy to Craig...let's face it, this site is amazing, takes a lot of dedication from one person to run and manage it... and Robert would be fully aware of it too!! I remember a while ago he thanked Craig at CoF for posting links to some videos... so, he DOES come here now and then!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wanna see some Cure promos? One could do a lot worse than having a look here..amazing site!
    www.thecurerecords.com

    ReplyDelete
  24. I can't believe they still haven't redesigned teh website. Is there absolutely no marketing effort behind this album??

    ReplyDelete
  25. Am I the only one who can't see these pictures? :S PBASE is down or something :'(

    ReplyDelete
  26. i think andy had a fair question seeing as how craig is all about supporting the singles, albums etc...while deleting links to download the singles, EP, and album etc...you may run a better cure site than the official one, but all this talk of support and then not "buying" one as andy put it..kind of hypocritical, but hey whatever i am just playing devil's advocate

but for me personally, if someone gave me a copy, why buy another,,,?
thats kind of stupid really, unless you are one of these comic book store guys who needs two of everything, one kept in indestructible mylar plastic....

  28. Very uncool to insult Craig like that at his own site, RB. Extremely uncool. he does a wonderful service to us all; you are free not to come here.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It's really no one's business what Craig does with his money... and obviously there are a LOT of people who would still buy the album if they were given a promo copy. What does that have to do with anything? I preordered on vinyl and CD, and I'd still purchase both if I had a promo CD, too.

    ReplyDelete
  30. just saying this again, i didn't mean anything insulting to craig. i know he loves the cure and all. i might have phrased the question wrong. i just meant for example with any other band, if my friends gives me the cd as a gift. would i really go get the cd myself? that's all. i adore craig and honestly meant no harm.

    p.s.
leak is out. so yeah craig, be on the lookout of those postings links...

    eek.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh, I adore the artwork!

I am so glad that Porl's artwork has returned.... after the RCMH show, when he met with the small crowd, I asked him to sign the artwork from the Freakshow single. So neat!

    ReplyDelete
  32. i'm one of these people that needs like, 2 cds and 2 vinyl and also a digital download. i have to have once of the cds and vinyls in their sleeves. as a backup and also for collecting purposes. i've done it since i got into the cure and now i wish i didn't care so much because I AM BROKE.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I downloaded a torrent, I couldn't wait! But of course I'm obviously gonna buy the cd to rip at apple lossless. I don't get why you can hardly ever download stuff in apple lossless :S

Who can put up with shitty 128? :S I don't get why the itunes store doesn't give you a quality option either it sucks.

Can't wait to buy the proper version of the cd next week. It's amazing! :D

    ReplyDelete
  34. This site is the greatest fansite ever created. Craig should get more then just a free promo album for all the stuff he delivers to us.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thom, no one rips to Apple lossless because FLAC is by far the more standard encoding. Same reason no one likes any of the other Apple proprietary formats. MPS and FLAC are the standard for digital lossy and lossless music.

    ReplyDelete
  36. But there's nothing wrong with apple lossless plus all these other formats are a pain, you have to convert them to be able to play them on itunes and you need itunes to be able to put them on your ipod.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think for once I'll also get the vinyl

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's also a pain that Apple requires that people use iTunes to put music on their iPods. Not like they couldn't just let users drag-and-drop the music onto the disk.

Also, glad this record finally leaked. So far, I'm really enjoying the songs, and the production is pretty solid. Oddly enough, I think I'm finding The Only One to be my least favorite track thus far. Maybe it's just over-exposure...

    ReplyDelete
  39. clockwise, i did in no way insult craig, i said i was playing devil's advocate, obviously its hard to convey sarcasm on here cause either 1. tone cannot be inferred without sound, pitch or body language 2, some people are just too stupid to get it...

i know craig runs a wonderful site, i even said that in my post...did you even read it? or you too busy writing bad poetry for your goth diary to read to your cats?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sofia: I am the same way and I'm not a "comic book geek". I have everything on vinyl, and then CD and/or on my hard drives.

...and you guys all know that when things heat up around here, all kinds of crap comes out of the woodwork. I just try to ignore it and I hope you all will too.
Craig, you know we love you!

    ReplyDelete
  41. wait a minute, is there a new cure album coming out?

    ReplyDelete
  42. then i simply misread you, RB. there is no need for such a peronal attack on me, either. after all, i may write bad poetry, but i am in no way goth. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yea Monkeybutt, it was announced for september 2006 I think. Called dream 13 if I remember correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  44. thanks, hynreck, good to know. are there any good cure news sites you could recommend?

    ReplyDelete
  45. The official Cure site is where I take all my info. It's pretty much up to date.
    Charming look, easy to navigate.

  47. clockwise, you gained some points in my book with your last comment: "after all, i may write bad poetry, but i am in no way goth. :-)" touché

the personal attack on you was a tit for tat sort of thing...

i think once you have read some of my posts , you will realize i write them with a great deal of sarcasm and with a very dry sense of humour...one reason i chose this screen name is cause it seems like everyone always wants to kiss roberts ass about everything he does no matter if its shite...(believe it or not robert's asshole was already taken) anyway so maybe my joke is lost on people when i write a certain way, i think you have to also look at the screenname...

one reason i do not post under my usual name as i am afraid people would not "get it"

and believe it or not i am actually close to the cure inner circle, was closer but not so much now since perry and roger are gone....was starting to get to know porl however....

to some people this may have just given away who i am....others already know cause i told them i was making this screen name as a joke...

    ok so there it is....

    ReplyDelete
  48. Since everyone is so interested, yes, of course I'm buying the new album. CD and Vinyl. From Amazon, if you must know.
I love this album and will do anything I can to support the album and the band.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm hoping Best Buy has the CD next Tuesday. Ever since Tower closed shop it is the only place I can buy music (which is pathetic!)

I pre-ordered the Vinyl version but I have no idea how long it will take to get... does anyone know how that works from past experience?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Singled: Best Buy should have it. Don't know if they'll feature it in their ad. Circuit City and Target won't.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Times like this, I love living in Austin, TX. We have independent record stores out the ass, and all the major retailers carry more indie stuff to compete. I'll be at Waterloo Records first thing next Tuesday to pick up this gem, along with Of Montreal's Skeletal Lamping and probably I'm From Barcelona's latest, Who Killed Harry Houdini? God, I love this city if only for the music.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I took it on a torrent ; I couldn't resist.
A good vintage. Really deep. The Songs are more "cure" than on the last album...

I'm going to buy it as soon as possible in a real store...

    ReplyDelete
  53. LOL anah. I agree - who cares about gaining points? It's not a contest, just a website. :-)

And I am with you - not downloading. What's 7 days when you've waited YEARS for this?

    oh, oh, I wanna guess...

    Is it... "aborted fetus"?

  57. UTS is really awesome !
and This here and now with you. Fabulous.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Helsa, I have one more reason to love you.

    ReplyDelete
  59. And RB, just so we are very clear, I don't care who you are, I'm not trying to gain points with you, and I am impervious to any of your flames.

pops: THANWY is a quirky classic. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  60. RB wrote "...you may run a better site than the official one"

Then RB wrote "...Craig runs a wonderful site, I even said that...did you even read that"

RB- As your first comment didn't say what your second comment claimed it said... Did YOU even read it??

Anyhow, people that insult Craig on his own marvellous website disgust me. They should disappear to somewhere else because they are nothing more than disrespectful, small-minded, potty-mouthed punks.

    ReplyDelete
  61. good booklet, i like parched art, the front cover is one of their best ever in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  62. damn people on here take themselves way too seriously..., by gaining points i meant props to her,i thougth what she said was funny, its was a kind gesture...the fact that i did not say verbatim craig runs a wonderful site, i did say he ran a better one than the official one, which was in response to clockwise's attack on me,

this is a chat forum. when did i have to start using MLA citing formats? the words were slightly different but the meaning was still pretty much the same..

and again apparently you missed the whole point of the last post...i was explaining that this was a joke screenname and to take it with a grain of salt cause i write it with sarcasm....and you guys all took the gained some points thing wrong...
is the smell of nail polish and hairspray and patchouli too thick in your rooms?

but apparently number 2 of my first post was right.
people are too stupid to get it ,jesus this is a cure chat board, don't take yourselves all so damn serious..its really pathetic to watch...but really funny for me and others to read

    ReplyDelete
  63. the only one who is taking himself too seriously is you, RB. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  64. man i love all the drama and sexual tension going on in these forums :P hehe

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thanks for posting up the pics craig. Cool cover art! I love Porl's stuff! I can't wait to get this CD! ONLY 6 more days to go!

And I have no issue with anyone getting a promo CD. I've gotten a few in the past (not cure stuff) and I didn't always buy the CD when they went on sale but why should that matter if you do or you don't buy another copy.

Craig deserves it for all that he does. He promotes the Cure way better than anyone else & that's payment enough! Still it's very cool he'll be buying a copy too! :)
