  2. I'm quite surprised any store in the states would have it out so soon. I called a few stores where I live near Philadelphia and each & every on of them said they will not sell the record before Tuesday. Whoever got this is quite lucky!

It's going to be a long weekend!

  3. melody has done this several times before. I know they did it for the last Manson, and a few others. If anyone lives / works in the DC area and has not visited Melody, I highly recommend them. Its nice to see an old mom and pop type store thrive and survive in the mega mart environment we live in.....

  4. sithswimmer---Sounds like a great place. There was several places like that up where I live in the Philly suburbs but sadly they are all gone now & nothing is left but chain stores. I'm glad there still are places like this in business.

  6. sithswimmer---Wow I forgot about Digital Ferret! I haven't been there for years since I don't go downtown much anymore. I think they might have moved to a different location to, not sure.

And I would have gone to the city this weekend to check out a few other music stores for the CD but I'll be going away for the next 2 days. Oh well I'll just get it on Tuesday unless I happen to run into a music store during my weekend travels that will be nice enough to sell it to me early.

  9. I was the one who posted the original info about the new album being sold in DC. I went back last night to double check if they had enough copies and indeed they do. If you go to Melody, they don't have any in 'the cure' section (last time i checked that is), instead they are on the new release wall near the front.

The album gets better and better with each listen. There is so much going on that it takes repeated listens to really get the full scope. Some of the best work since 'Wish'.

  13. ive seen every cure tour since 'wish'. i was only 9 when during the prayer tour! each tour i've made at least two shows, usually one on each coast.

m83 are coming back nov 13. i'm going again as they are a fantastic live band. it was a great show and yes, the crowd was weird. that's why i stand up front so i don't have to look at anyone.

  15. Around 11:45 am today, I sent a message to Craig from Joel's iPhone (I was very excited):

I am driving home from Melody Records in DC's Dupont Circle. They had a number of copies on the shelf. I am very excited since I have waited to listen with the CD!

    Thank you!!!!!

  18. I have been holding out for the CD to listen to the new tracks as the complete album.

What a perfect day in the DC area to listen! It is dark, cloudy, rainy and cold. It's great to curl up with some candles, a good stereo system, a fluffy robe, maybe some wine...
